Automatic Screen Door Closer
Automatic Screen Door Closer
Ensure your screen door moves freely prior to installation of the door closer. Inspect and lubricate the rollers so they turn freely. Some rollers may have to be replaced.
Temporarily remove the rubber strip on the back of the screen door, once the installation is complete, it can be reinstalled so that it does not cause resistance on the door movement.
Drill a 1/16" or 1/8" hole in the track (the rail the door slides on)
This hole should be positioned in front of the roller on the door, approximately 4" from the bottom back side of the door.
Insert the hook from the door closer into the small hole you drilled and pull the string under bottom cavity of teh door frame.
Insert the tapered side of the door closer into the door slot at the bottomback side of the door.
Apply enough pressure to snap the unit into the slot of the screen door. Make sure the unit is mounted high enough so it does not drag on the track.
Adjust the unit closing speed by turning the tension adjustment. If tension is too high, press the release button on top and start over adjusting to the desired speed.
